Dental Bridges

Bridges, sometimes called fixed bridges, literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Bridges are a very good solution if you are unable to have an implant. The bridge uses crowns on either side of the gap to anchor the replacement teeth into place. The replacement teeth are called pontics and are made of porcelain.

Bridges can be used to restore smiles and the ability to speak and chew properly. Using bridges can correct the bite and maintain the shape of your face They can also be used to prevent other teeth from shifting out of place.

The process to have bridges made requires multiple appointments. In the first appointment the abutment teeth (anchors) will be prepared and then our dentist will take a model. We will make a temporary bridge to protect your exposed teeth and gums while the lab makes your new bridge. In the second visit your temporary bridge will be replaced with your permanent bridge. We will adjust the bridge to make sure you have the proper fit.
